“Why do you keep the size-sticker on your hat?!”
It’s a famous question by now, used by many confused people.
And even though I also keep the golden shiny sticker on my hat, I can’t answer the question..
Until now.
I became (just like anybody else) curious about where this rule of leaving-the-sticker-on-your-cap came from.
I started with searching on Google for any answers but couldn’t find them. Not even answers on the question if it’s normal to keep you’re sticker on the hat.
So this made me only more confused.
But then I found a forum all about the New Era size sticker. And there was a big discussion going on about taking your sticker off or leave it on the hat.
But this wasn’t a reason for why it was so important to keep the sticker on your hat.
So I kept on searching and came to an comment which hold my eye for a moment.
Because this kid had some really good ideas about the origin of the keep-the-sticker-on-the-hat rule.
The Rappers!
Yes indeed, it all started with the famous rappers and hip-hop artists.
These people started wearing the hats for their video clips. But even though they’ve so much money, they were not even willing to pay a lot of money for it.
Which is also kind of reasonable if you look at how many different hats are used in a 4 minute long video!
So their solution was: Buying the hats and leave all the stickers on it, so they could return it after the filming. Brilliant right?!
But obviously there’s a effect of these cool and rich rappers wearing the hats with the size-sticker still on it. People were going to copy this like: “Oh Lil Wayne still got his sticker on the hat! That must be cool, so I’ll leave it to!”
And so finally, here is the answer on why we keep our stickers on our hats.
Because it’s cool!
And you can’t even blame someone, because it kind of does look cooler with that shiny gold sticker on top!
But it’s still cool without the sticker on it, so it’s always your own choice.
Take it off or leave it. It’s your own decision.
